What is Continental Rowing?
A continental rower races in continental championships, including the European Rowing Championships, the Asian Rowing Championships and the African Rowing Championships. Continental rowing championships give many more countries the opportunity to feature in the medal tables at Olympic or World Championship level. Continental rowers use continental events as stepping stones to senior events such as the World Rowing Championships and the Olympic Games. It also offers developing athletes in strong rowing nations the chance to race internationally to gain the experience needed to compete at senior level.
