Ricardo Daniel Ibarra, one of the greatest athletes in the history of Argentinian rowing, passed away on 15 December 2011 at the age of 61.

World Rowing is proud to announce the 2011 Golden Blades of St Petersburg City Sprints regatta which will take place on 12 June 2011. The 250 metre invitational city sprints will be raced on the Fontanka River between the Belinsky Lomonosov and Pestel Anichkov bridges, in the historic centre of St. Petersburg. It is a splendid location which will allow participants and spectators to enjoy the cultural capital of Russia.
